Do you believe that God blesses you everyday? I can almost hear some of you answering..., "Well, He woke me up this morning, He gave me food to eat, a place to live, clothed in my right mind, ...." For some of you these are the daily blessings that you receive. It's good to be mindful and thankful for what you have, because I can think of times when I didn't want to wake up, relied on the generosity of others for a meal, wasn't sure where I was going to lay my head the next night, and, well, let's just say my mind wasn't right. Genesis 32:10a "I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant."
But what's new today? That's part of this blog goal. Is there a blessing today that I've overlooked? Something I can be thankful for that's out of the ordinary care and provisions Yah grants me. Did you avoid and accident on the way to work? (That could be daily for some). Did you receive the strength to stick to your diet? Did your spouse make dinner without being asked? Did your kids wake you up with kisses? Did you son pass his algebra test? Take time to look back over your day and see what new mercies and blessings you should be thankful for.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Great is Thy Fatihfulness by Thomas O. Chisholm

7,710,600 pennies saved, is a blessing

You've no doubt heard the saying, "a penny saved is a penny earned." I think we give credit to Benjamin Franklin for this American Proverb. Well, yesterday I was trying to figure out a way to enroll in a class I didn't have the money for. It was going to cost me $771.06. Most the classes I take to fulfill the requirements of a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction are paid for by the school district where I'm employed, but there were a few (3) classes I was supposed to figure out a way to pay. So I was going to take one class this summer. It was a 3 credit hour course away from the university my other course work is being completed through. So I didn't want to begin asking for loans and favors and borrowing money from friends and family before being sure this class at the university in town will satisfy the university and the state department of education. I shot a email to my advisor, who shot me an email back saying that I didn't have to take the course because of my high test score on an exam I took last summer. I don't deserve it. I didn't earned any of those 7,710,600 pennies, but God blessed me anyhow. I felt His awesome love once again. Bwana Asifiwe!
